| Joy Garnett is a New York-based artist whose work focuses on images of the apocalyptic-sublime and its intersections with media, politics and culture. Her paintings have been exhibited in the US and internationally, including at PS1-MoMA Contemporary Art Center, Boston University Gallery and Aeroplastics Contemporary in Brussels, Belgium. She recently curated the exhibition Things Fall Apart at Winkleman Gallery, NY (Jan16-Feb 21, 2009). Garnett is a 2004 recipient of a grant from the Anonymous Was a Woman Foundation. She has been the Arts Editor at Cultural Politics, an internationally refereed journal published by Berg (UK) since 2005. She is represented by Winkleman Gallery, NY. more info |
