Robert Bordo was born in Montreal and has lived in New York since 1972, exhibiting there regularly with Brook Alexander, Tibor de Nagy and  Alexander and Bonin galleries since 1987. He has also exhibited with Galerie Rene Blouin, Montreal and Rubicon Gallery, Dublin. In 2007 he was awarded a Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship.His most recent solo show, Robert Bordo: it's always raining, was held in September-October 2008 at Alexander and Bonin, New York. He is on the full-time faculty of the Cooper Union School of Art, New York.



"The imagery of his new paintings hovers between
abstraction and landscape utilizing the particulars of time, place and weather. Known for his transformations of pre-existing two-dimensional models such as maps, charts, envelopes and postcards, Bordo continues to explore the line between subject and abstraction."
